Default Cat question

Can I just cut it off? Pros/cons? Mine is shot and keeps tripping the O2 codes...

Either stop being cheap and get a new or good condition used one or take it off and cut/ bag the inside guts out of it then put it back on. That should stop the rattling. God luck

First off read forum rules you are not allowed to talk about removing the cat. Second there is a vendor on here that sales hi-flow cats for a good price that will keep you legal. I'll try to find a link.

Just so u know cutting cats isn't illegal everywhere in Ky you only have to have for an emissions test and the only way u have one of those is if you buy the vehicle in another state.

the cat law is federal, illegal everywhere tested or not, the cat is probably bot tripping the code.

Illegal Activity
5. Do not talk about illegal activity on this forum. This includes illegal drugs, parties, wheeling, internet use, etc. Violators of this rule will be dealt with on a case by case basis. This rule includes the discussion of removing catalytic convertors, this is illegal and not allowed to be discussed on this site.

Exactly, federal law in all the states, 5000 dollar fine possabile if caught, besides, if you take it off, you will continue to trip the o2 sensor code.
