Can you help me with my front driveshaft?
Hi I need to replace my front driveshaft in my 02 Laredo Select trac. I have the type with the u-joint in the front differential end and the cv-joint in the transfer case end. I was going to buy the cv rebuilt kit but when I took off the bad cv part I noticed that the teeth on the cv and the teeth on the driveshaft had somehow ground into each other. I do not want to buy a new $400 driveshaft so I'm going to get one from the junkyard. I don't know how the cv joint part is supposed to feel when it's good. Does anyone know how I can tell if the junkyard one is good or not? I've read it's a common failure so I don't want to get a junk part. Thanks

If u get a drive shaft from a junkyard its best to just spend the 40 bucks and replace the ujoints. You can find whole front axels for around 200 bucks
