Default heater core replacement

ol blu i just joined this site a few minutes ago. i noticed you are up to date on this heater core issue and have been on this site awhile now and it sounds as if you know a bit. my G/F owns a 2002 jeep GC v-8 engine with the manual controls for the heating cooling unit. the heater core has been gradually going downhill for a few months and finally went out a few days ago. the shop wanted around a thousand to replace it and we cant afford that at the moment so i decided to do it myself and so far i have the entire dash out which wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. my thing now is how to get the heater core it-self out. i thiink i have a idea but not completely sure. any info you have to offer will be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance.

Ol' Blue,
I too would greatly appreciate the info on replacing the evaporator coil on my 2001 XJ.
Would you recommend replacing the heater coil as well while I'm in there? It's working ok but I figure with 160k and 12 years its worth it.
Any suggestions on parts and what to stay away from?
Love the site!

Hey All. Just picked up a 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo with 110K as a first car for my 16 year old daughter. I figured it's a great car to run over a few things and not really damage much.. Hopefully.
Ol' Blue, can you shoot me the same? Much appreciated. I've been lurking for some time and picking up a few tips here and there. Great forum!

Taking on the evap core on my 99 Cherokee Sport 4.0 this weekend. Ol blue can you send me those instructions please? And I read somewhere that you can take the seats out and swing the dash out rather than take it all apart? Anyone tried this?

I have to replace the evaporator in my daughter's 1999 Cherokee Classic. If you have a document with instructions, I would sure like a copy. Thanks.

Please add me to the list needing the repair instructions ol"blue. My AC no longer works on my 2000 Cherokee Sport and it won't hold a recharge. Checked for leaks under the hood and can't find any and have been told it is most likely the evaporator. I hope I can do it without pulling the dash completely out. Thanks in advance.

just got off the phone with my repair guy and he is saying $700-$800 to fix the A/C Evaporator Coil.....does that sounds like an average, good or bad price?
