Default 2000 Cherokee

Looks like I found the right thread! I am new to CF, and I just got an estimate for $2000 to replace the AC evaporator on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee! It sounds like quite the job to remove the dash...I am not the greatest at working on cars, but what I'm wondering is whether or not I might be able to do this myself given a decent manual/manuscript. Any thoughts would be appreciated....thanks.

wow looks like i found the right thread too!!! i have the same problem. I got the haynes repair manual and it has been awesome for every other repair i have done on my xj, but it doesn't a section for the evaporator. I hate to be like the fifth person to ask, but could someone send me the files for the evaporator replacement?
thanks alot!!!

Default Help!!

I'm embarking on a 14-hour roadtrip in my 1999 Cherokee, I'm leaving in 4 days.

I have a leaking evaporator core. I am not sure what to do, the labor involved is a little beyond my mechanical abilities, and I certainly don't have the money to pay someone the labor for this one.

This forum is just what I need, Can anyone help me?

OK, I'm joining the club too. I've got a 2001 Cherokee and the AC stopped running cold all of a sudden. Ran some dye through it and next day find the dye running out of the condensation tube. It looks like a lot of people have been getting some good help here and I sure could use it myself.
