Default Evaporator job

Howdy, I started this job awhile back, my ac guy wanted 1200 to do it. Half way through it, I got side tracked, I am finishing it now. I got the dash out of the way, and got the box out with the core in it, but as I separated the box, a little flap fell out of place and I can't figure out where it goes. If anyone has the pages that show what goes where, I would appreciate it. I was going to try to get it all back together tomorrow, actually have to, and need to know.'

Thanks!

John

my bad, I was just about to add that. It is a 98 Cherokee, standard all the way, no power anything, no bells and whistles. 5 speed, and she just rolled 212k miles. Next project will be to rebuild or replace the engine. 4 Cylinder.

Thanks

John

I was going to send you a pdf manual for your XJ but I don't have '98. There's 97 & '99, I'll send you a Private Message.
And Welcome to CF.

Not really, unless you want to take a pic of the part and post it with your statement, "This fell out, where/how does it go in the HVAC box?" in a new thread. You might get better responses that way.

Default random piece

Here is the piece that just seemed to be in there. For all I know, it might not be part of it, no telling what could have fallen in the ac box.

Thanks

John

John, I think you'll get more attention starting a new thread w/pics.

I need to replace the evaporator on my Jeep, it's a 1999 automatic XJ. Could someone send me the pages on how to do it, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks again to Ol"blue for the scans on how to change the Evaporator Core. It's all done and the AC is cooling again.

Thanks to everyone who hi-jacked my thread, hope you had a good time and got the help you needed.
