Default broke easy out on thermostat housing

I broke a bolt to my thermostat housing. I drilled it out but then broke the easy out in the drilled hole.

Can a machine shop drill out a bolt extractor?

It looks like I have to replace my intake manifold. Is that right? Is that a difficult procedure? I am looking to understand how to do this myself.

I am in a real need of help here. I have to move in a week and I can't even move the vehicle.

My wife and I left our jobs and we work everyday for the Lord in helping people. So I do not have done to pay for it to be done in a shop.

Maybe try one of these, if you have a die grinder or dremmel.

Welcome to CF!

That looks just like the solid carbide burrs I used to use in my work on plastic molds. Probably is. Mine were only single-ended. I still have a few in my toolbox. PM me or send me your snail-mail address to my e-mail and I'll send you one. frenchdragon22@yahoo.com

I saw these. There are great. I am going to get one for sure! But I ran out of time and moved on. I bought an intake manifold for $45 at FNjeeps and I am in the process of replacing it. I have everything disconnected except for the fuel rails, last two back bolts, ERG valve, the front hose and front bolt. Any advise how to get the rails loose from the intake? Rock them back and forth? I just don't want to break anything.

The rails fit on the injectors with o-rings. You should be able to wiggle them back and forth while pulling. Try to get it off straight, all 4 at once. I'd install new o-rings on both ends of the injectors. Wipe them with engine oil to make them slide in without tearing them. On my 4.0, I installed them into the rail first, then put the rail onto the manifold.

At least with a new manifold, you shouldn't have to worry about the plenum gasket on the bottom for a while.

Well got everything disconnected last night. So today I try to lift the thing out with out damaging anything.

Then put in the new one! I took pictures and video of the process to refer to later on. I might even post it on YouTube.

Thanks for your support! I don't feel quite alone on this thing.
