Your blinkers do have an interconnection with a VIC and LOM should be able function independently even if the VIC and/or LOM aren't installed or working.
____________

Here's a link with a some information about the ZJ's VIC or EVIC and also the Graphic Display.

https://sites.google.com/site/thezjp...lay-module-gdm

Most VICs for the ZJ I've seen appear same or similar to this one (95 used two plug-in connectors where the later models such as the 96 uses one plug-in connector)

Perhaps you have a Graphics display? I've seen Grand Cherokee's in the JY a VIC or graphic display that looks like this

As for the LOM I think some ZJ's didn't come with a LOM (lamp outage module). However when I was troubleshooting lamp errors I found the rear lamps worked with or without my LOM installed. Currently my VIC reports there's something wrong with my rear lamps after all exterior lamps have been replaced. So it may be a wiring problem or possibly a problem with the VIC.

I don't know, it appears someone may have messed with your factory wiring and lighting, might have messed something up? LOMs come in different colors such as black, grey, blue, beige, etc. All they are is a little box with two plug-in and a small pcb inside the plastic box. I dismantled mine, inspected and could not find any thing wrong, so snapped it closed and re-installed. There's one or two small screws that hold it in place.

If your ZJ originally came installed with a LOM there should be two plug-ins one that goes into the LOM and one that goes out.

Such as in the pic below of a LOM with plug-ins.

I just went through this, 94 to 98 zj are all the same. The fuse block itself is shot and maybe a connector or two. The bad weather brings it on if you have water from the wheelwell getting in like I did. Get one from a junkyard. See my post about the CRC contact cleaner.

I think you're correct if referring to the LOM.

I went through trying to replace the VIC and Overhead Console. The VIC should be the same from 96 - 98 and 94-95. The Overhead Consoles have two types a long and shorter one. I found an overhead console in a JY, i think it was from a 96? that initially worked as I was able to configure it compass ok, but currently haven't been able to enter setup mode as before.

There are VICS on eBay for 96-98 but not so many compatible with 95. Known problem with the VICs is the manufacture used lead free solder which over time develops micro-cracks and start to malfunction. Some people have tried to re-solder one or both PCBs which has seemed to work for some.

If it was me I would check and possibly replace the wring and sockets for the directional s and taillights. If badly corroded it can become difficult to try to repair them,

Is it possible that the ignition switch is worn out?

My problem is my hazards work but neither of my blinkers do. So far I have replaced the relay next to the fuse panel. I have also tried replacing the blinker arm switch. Neither of these worked. I am wondering where the most likely connection point is that may be loose are broken. Since I have own the jeep whcih is around 1 month the blinkers have worked one day I have had it. Any ideas would be appreciated.
If it's a 96 you don't have a relay next to the fuse panel, or a relay at all. You have only the flasher in the fuse panel and the fuse. Are the turn signals lighting but not blinking, ? Do you have park lights? Not sure what the VIC or LOM would have to do with any of that.
