Blanking security system
I have a 95 Cherokee Chief Limited, I just bought for my sporting events.
I've had problems with the battery going dead.
A friend came over and did some tests, and determined that the security system was causing the battery drain.
We started by pulling off the door panel, and found the switch that goes on the door lock was off.
From there we went to the wire harness between the door and the post.
we found multiple wires cracked with broken insulation, some cut wires, and some spliced.
We also fount the dome light button was removed.
Being the guy I am, I went to the junkyard, and removed the wire harness from the door to the harness inside the vehicle.
With all the wires in good shape, and none cut, I put the battery post on, and my god I never seen so many lights flashing!
Apparently someone cut the wires in the door post to stop this from happening, as it never did this before, it just drained the battery.
I read a blog on here, about using a bulldog antitheft bypass module.
I picked one up, and upon reading it, it told me that I needed a key that worked in the ingition, to install in the module.
I have an original key, and the two others are made.
Does the original key have a resistor in it?
If this bypass kit won't work on this Jeep (95) what can I do to stop the security, and stop the battery drain.
I just can't unplug the black box behind the dash, as it won't let the Jeep keep running. It starts, and dies.
Please anyone out there have a true cure for this problem?
I've heard there are a lot of problems with this, and I want a good cheap vehicle to service me for a long time.

your 95 does NOT have the imoblizer alarm system in it but what you can do is
1 under the dash on the drivers side there is a light that lights up the floor when the door is open and its mounted to a metal plate
on said plate there is a couple of wire connectors and in them you will find a purple wire with a yellow stripe
what you want to do is strip back the insulation or cut and install a piece of wire to this purple/yellow wire then run this new wire to the screw that holds the plate to the dash
what you are doing is grounding the purple/yellow wire which is the factory disarm wire for the alarm causing it to never arm again

Thanks so much for the advice.
Will this also stop the lights from flashing, and the battery drain?
I've noticed too, that when I open a door, and close it, I can hear a humming somewhere, not sure where, but I can hear it from out side the vehicle, and it lasts for around a minute, maybe less.

If I do this, will I still have power locks and power Windows. And will that darn security light stop filming on in the dash?
