Default Actual CV boot that fits?

So I ordered Moog 7440 for the front driveshaft boot. It is about an inch too large and the clamp it came with is not small enough to seal it properly. Vehicle is a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 4x4. Is the Moog actually supposed to fit because I can't see any possible way for it to work. Thanks for any responses!!!

The Moog 7440 boot is for the axle shaft at the wheel hub, not the driveshaft.

Thanks for the response. Any idea what the correct part number might be? I'm gonna look at ATV boots and see if I can find one with similar dimensions and if it works I'll post part number.

I've been looking myself and it looks like the only way to get one is to buy a rebuild kit. Most listings are for complete shafts.

Yeah no luck on an actual part number that technically is listed for this application. However I did have some luck with an ATV boot that O' Reilly http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...eyword=72-1009 has access to or you can order it on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Prime-Line-Po...e+line+cv+boot Also there is another one that is closer to spec https://www.amazon.com/Parts-Black-R...=skoda+cv+boot but I didn't have time to wait on the order so I just went with the O' Reilly one.

Just wanted to report that I did install the O'Reilly's boot and it works like a charm. I actually like it better than the stock one. Thanks for the help!
