AC pag oil
2002 grand cherokee 4.7 i'm going to swap out the compressor and dryer. i am not going to flush or evac the system (no...i don't want to hear it!). the system capacity of pag 46 oil is 4.5 oz. i know some oil remains in the lines and other components. does anyone know how much remains so that i can determine how much new oil to add to the compressor upon installation?

No way to tell unless u do it the right way. If your compresser failed, (your old one) the new one will most likely fail within the month. All the contaminates get caught in the evaporator and the condensor. I know u dont want to here it, but it is the only way to do it.
As far as the oil goes, drain the oil out of the parts u are taking off, its just a rough estimate, doesnt really matter how much u put in though, u r gonna have to do it again in a month or so.
