Default ABS sensor location.

I have a 94 gc 4.0 2wd, i was reading through the fourms trying to find where it is located seen where one guy wrote that it fixed his bad mpg, but that is not my concern, would be nice though. my question is where is that sensor, is there only one, or is there more than one. Thank you

there are separate sensors. the front ones are mounted to the steering knuckles. the rear ones are in the center of the axle, where they pick up a signal off tone rings on the carrier IIRC

There is a wheel speed sensor at each wheel, and there is a vehicle speed sensor at the output shaft in the tail housing of the transmission.

A three channel ABS system uses a single sensor on the diff, and a sensor at each front wheel. A four channel ABS system uses a sensor at each wheel.

Look at the wheel, then you will se brake line and another wire, follow that wire and you will find the ABS sensor.

Those pictures are for anybody that needs to know what the abs sensors look like. Being that my jeep is 2 wd i only had two sensors, and it's a 94 grand cherokee. With that being said if your jeep is older or newer it may look different i just wanted to share some information, also the two other picture are where the sensors are hooked up at, one is below the brake booster while the other one is tucked below the pcm, or the coolant container. Be warned that they are expenisve, 115 dollars a piece at my local advanced auto, may be cheaper other place. Thank you guys

Why are you replacing them now that you found them? What is the concern?

My abs sensor light stays on, and if i have to stop pretty quickly it's a train wreck but it will stop, i just hate how the whole the rear end goes from left to right when braking hard, i tried cleaning the abs sensors but it didn't work. No auto store around here has a code reader that will work on a 1994, it has to be a 1996 and up. So i dont want to throw money at it not knowing which one is bad, also if it rains real hard my brakes a very touchy, i mean like your head will hit the steering wheel if you push them, very annoying, it has always done that, why is that?

Haha, i love how my jeep is so very picky on cheaper parts from a auto store.

I cant see why the rear goes from left to right, that cant be the ABS sensor(s). I had trouble with stopping, the ABS started before full stop and the car needed some more meters to stop. My problem was that one of the rear sensors was a litle out of position, messure the distance between the sensor and tone wheel on all wheels.
