Can someone tell me if there is a replaceable abs relay for a 98 grand cherokee? I did purchase one but have no idea where it goes. I checked in the fuse panel next to the passenger side kick panel and the box in the engine compartment. There was no relay marked abs. Another site said they didnt make them because it was in the abs controller??? Whats the real deal?

 

My 98 does not have an ABS relay either.. but it does have a 40amp ABS fuse in the underhood PDC.

You sure they didnt sell you an ASD relay? Auto Shut Down.

 

It might be different but in my '97 ZJ's owners manual it lists the following:
In the PDC under the hood, cavity #8 has a 20 amp yellow fuse labeled ABS Main Relay; cavity #17 has a 50 amp red Maxi fuse labeled ABS Pump Motor Relay.
In the fuse panel inside the vehicle, cavity #5 has a 10 amp red fuse that is for ABS Warning Light & other things; cavity #11 has a 10 amp red fuse labeled ABS.
I know the older models had a relay center behind the glove box where relays were mounted but the manual doesn't mention this and I haven't seen it.
Maybe this will help you, maybe not. Thought I'd post it and see.

 

I went to cap auto parts and thats where I got the relay. Partsgeek online has the same relay for like 10.00?? I looked today again but cant find it. Maybe it didnt have a relay but just the fuses that are fine. Im just trying to see why my abs light stays on. I cleaned all sensors but If you read my master cylinder thread I think it might be leaking slowly. Maybe thats why my abs light is on?
