99 Laredo overheating - how do I test the water pump?
I've checked the fan is coming on and just took out the thermostat and it opened in a pan of boiling water. I was planning to pull the plugs and check for water but is there a way to check if the water pump is working right?

if the water pump is turning then you should not have a problem there. Quick guess would be blocked rad, clocked rad,
A little more info would be good , like the year and engine package.

Well, I went ahead and pulled the pump. It seems fine. I guess the next step is check the radiator. Do I need to remove it and take it to a radiator shop to pressure test or is there a way I can test it myself?

how does it look? are the fins ok, or are they all facked up, bent falling out...
does the rad leak coolant? is the fan shroud intact? how about the fan clutch? it should be hard to spin by hand when the engine is hot. (with the engine off, of course)
how old is the coolant? you could do a simple coolant test....

to pressure check it you dont need to do anything but to take the radiator cap off and hook up the pressure checker but those usually check for leaks i dont think thats what you want to check you need to see if it is clogged. maybe flush it first before you do anything like taking it out
