Question Need help with 98 Laredo

I have a 98 Laredo 4.0 with new battery that will not stay charged unless I manually push the lock button every time I get out of it. Sometimes even if I lock it up it still drains the battery. I thought that maybe it had something to do with the interior lights staying on also if I didn't push the lock button. Well easy enough, so I thought. Unplugged the fuse to interior lights, didn't lock the doors and battery went dead. I was wondering if anyone has heard of or had this happen. I need some guidence in the right direction. Thanks!

find your power source for everything. since you have power doors with a keychain remote thing you have to have a control module usually under the driver side kick pannel. i dont know exactly how they hook up to power but it has some options. your wire harness for your ignition, starter, accessory, etc anyway there is a constant 12 volt power wire in that harness it is right under your steering column and it is a thicker set of wires see if any wire is spliced into one of them if there is disconnect it and reattach the wire to itself leaving the spliced wire out. see if your battery still goes dead. if you dont have a wire going to there then it has to be somewhere else maybe the fuse box. try to find your controll module for everything and follow some of the wires

pull the radio fuse if it is after market and it is easy enough to pull the power door lock fuses then let it sit over night and see what happens try these one at a time so you know witch one is the problem.
