My 99 grand cherokee 4.0L Wont shift into over drive. The check engine light came on and when I had it scanned it said it was the "Throttle Position Sensor" So I changed it and it still wont go into overdrive and the light went off for about 20 miles and then it came back on and has stayed on ever since. I have no idea what to do from here. A shop tried telling me it needs a new computer. I'm just looking for help, Thank you for looking. Also when you give it gas hard it seems to studder.

hmmmm, well, have you had it scanned since the light turned on for the second time? Does it still say "TPS"?

Yeah I have had it scanned again after it went off and back on and it says its the "tps" still and it wont even let me clear the code.
