98 zj 3in lift issue
I recently purchased a 3in lift kit online. it came with shocks, 3 in blocks, 1 in transfer case drops, and the boots for the shocks. My question is about the shocks. Its not my first rodeo when it comes to shocks, any ive ever seen expand once the wire holding them in the box is cut, or if you extend the shock it retracts back into the cylinder. These shocks do neither, are they defective or do they function properly under the weight of the vehicle? I can pull them in and out with just my arms...

Only gas charged shocks will extend back out when compressed.
