98 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo sport not shifting
So I need some help. I have a 98 grand Cherokee laredo sport 4.0 6 cylinder.
first problem was the stalling, I fixed that with a new computer.
second problem and a major one is this...my jeep is having problems shifting, high rpms, with slow build on speed. Fast it goes it 35 mph...this is what happens, while I'm driving it. The rpms run either high or low, I let off the gas and it shifts but I can't go any faster than 35mph. When I let off the gas, my odometer light goes off, the oil and temp guages shut off. I get back on the gas and the odometer light comes on and the gauges come back on. Can someone please give me some insight into this problem. This is my daily driver and I need to fix this problem ASAP. Thank you.

Copied from my reply to your PM:
Sounds like it could be a couple things, low transmission fluid, worn out bands for your revving issue, maybe a grounding issue for your dash light problems. There are FSM's available if you do a google search.
