Default 98 grand cherokee help

Hello,

I wanted to help a family member out and do a tune up on his 98 grand cherokee that has been sitting for about a year. It has the 5.2 v8 in it . I purchased a list full of thing to change. We installed the new battery , started up just fine. Moved it in the garage to work on it. The fuel light was on and we put in 4 gallons of gas in it, changed the oil/filter and air filter. I purchased some new terminals cause the oem ones were really bad. After that it didnt seem to want to stay running and now it wont even start all interior lights work. The starter was trying and I heard a wierd sound around the glove box like a click. Any direction would be greatly appreciated as I was trying to help but I think things have gotten worse . Ive heard something about the ecu screws can be taken out a bit or something ?

When it dies, have someone crank it while you check for a spark. Since it is starting for a second it either a spark or fuel issue.

update: I went and purchased some larger terminals that would hold the wiring better and once I installed them "all wiring cleaned and everything is tight" it start for a few seconds and stalled and wouldnt start again. Its getting fuel , Im wondering if I blew a relay or a fuse when I installed the other terminals. The jeep ran fine yesterday before I replaced the terminals so I know everything is in working order. What relays or fuses could I check? Thanks

The PCM may have gone into "theft mode" and have to be reset.

Ive read now a couple thread with people changing the battery and having the same problem. It seems the jeep is in a theft mode, Ive tried a couple different things

1. locking the jeep with the remote and then unlocking and locking the tailgate twice

2. locking the drivers door and unlocking it with the key

Still no luck It was running fine yesterday before we changed out this battery and terminals. Im about to go crazy over here haha

IAC may be the culprit

Just changed the plugs and wires. Im getting spark... Any other ideas? I read this off another forum and its exactly what its doing?

"Sounds like the vec thinks the alarm is on thats about the right time frame to shut down the fuel pump relay, hold your hand on the relay while someone eles starts the vec as the key is turned to start the relay will power up which you can feel if it shuts off after a couple seconds and you feel the relay click, you have an alarm problem, which could be in the pcm"

Are any lights flashing when you hear the clicking noise? Sounds as if maybe the alarm was tripped.
