Default 97 zj sometimes wont idle

I have this intermitant wont idle problem on a 97 5.2l grand cherokee. I have cleaned and replaced the IAC with no luck. It may go a week or a day till it has this problem again. Today it would not idle as my wife was moving it from the garage. I come home from work open the door and it starts right up and runs fine. I'm lost. If you happen to be driving and it acts up it still runs ok and will haul if mat the pedal. just dies when you let go. Hope some one can help.

Did you clean OR replace the IAC? Cleaning does very little, replacing is the sure fire way of fixing the problem.

Kind of weird, you would think the IAC would have taken care of the problem.

I have heard of this problem happening a few times. Some say its the Idle Air Control Valve, others say the Throttle Positions Sensor. Also it could be the Crankshaft Position Sensor.

I will try throttle position sensor. I hope that works. Last two days been semi ok hasn't died out yet but struggled to idle a time or two. It would drop down and make you think it was gonna quit and pick back up. I have added heet and injector cleaner to gas tank last two fillups. I do apreciate any and all ideas
