97 Grand Cherokee missing hose on engine?

Found this uncovered nipple on the right side of the engine, pics on google show it covered. It's pulling in air and if I cover it the engine D'Revs for a couple second before coming back up. Whats it used for?

Always keep nipples covered in public. lol
Its a vacuum strait from your intake, cap it till somebody tells you where it goes.

I believe it's the vacuum supply port for the vapor canister purge. I'm not sure because I don't own a ZJ anymore and I'm not going out the -5* temps with a -37* windchill to check my WJ. wcshale is right, though. Seal it off until you know. It's making the PCM compensate for a lean mixture.

Yes, its to the vapor canister (under left head light)
