97 4.0 ac clutch wires?

97 4.0 ac clutch wires?
97 grand cherokee laredo,
I put a new ac clutch on and then realized the wires wouldn't match up. there is a fuse, resistor or something that the old hot wire ran through. My question is, can I bypass that or should I splice the wires together and run through it?
