Idk but the rust was unbelievable.... I'm in new England area so salt/sand it's got 200k on it... The truck sat in grass....The pinhole is up top so it was not hit... It only leaks when driven.... Waiting for the cover it's on back order :/

have you tried JB Weld until the cover comes in? There is also something that is sold at autoparts stores that looks like a black Tootsie roll with a white or gray filling. You roll it into a ball and stuff it in the hole, it hardens in hours. I used it for a gas tank hole i had in my 57 chevy. Worked great.

I got that blk good silicone on it.... I cleaned it all off and applied the silicone it's holding for now but I check every time I get out... I would of welded it but idk how thin around the hole is.... I was scared to even clean it


Guys what weight oil do you recommend???

I had the same thing happen to my rear diffy cover 2000 GC. They salt the roads here in western NY till they turn white by mid winter. The more you scrape and clean that cover the more holes will suddenly appear till its like swiss cheese. I couldnt find a cover at the local junk yard so I had to buy new from the dealer + a tube of mopar silicone gasket maker because they dont sell diffy gaskets. I used Valvoline synthetic 75w-140 in the D35 rear end.

The cover finally came will be installed soon... This one came with a plug not a rubber plug
