96 ZJ 42re to AW4 ?

I havent done any research yet...just coming right to the experts...

Can I put an AW4 into my 4.0 96 ZJ?? Ive got a few AW4s and TCUs and would love to be able to drop one in if the stock 42re fails.

It can be done, but it requires a lot of time and money.

Yeah, Im pretty sure Im not the only one that would REALLY like the good old dependable AW4 in our ZJs. The guy that comes up with a good, practical solution without rewiring the entire truck is going to be a hero.

I did a lot of searching on this swap.people made it work. But pretty much everyone said it didn't ever work quite right, and it wasn't worth the effort.
