Can't figure this out and dont know where to start. All of a sudden weird things start happening to my 96 Laredo. The console display shows right door opened, window indicator on, plus a lot other indicators are on, the time and date that use to display in now just lines. My passenger doors windows wont work half the time; sometimes they do sometimes they dont. The passenger electric mirror dont work. Every now and then all the dash lights come on and then cut off and all dash guages will shut down including tach and speedometer. WEIRD!!! Any Suggestions on where to start?

By the way all this started after I had a friend of mine replace the crank position sensor

Disconnect the crank position sensor. Turn key to on but do not start the engine. See if that changes anything. If it does check the wiring to the CPS makes sure there are no faults. Put everything back, start engine and check again.

Could be a ground problem. Read this article on electrical gremlins.

 

broken wires in the door where it meets the body, think it is prob. a coicidence that it started when ur bud replaced the cps.
