front track bar noise
I have a 95 Grand with a 3.5 inch Rough Country and have a question, I bought there front track bar that comes with the tie rod style joint , the problem is a popping noise while turning. I can feel it on the floor so at first I thought maybe a control arm. I really believe the heim is my problem, I had the alignment guy watch the front end while moving the wheel back and forth and he noticed the heim actually moving up and down. I went home tonight and check the castle nut it was tight?? WTF so I took it out and looked everything over and decided to put everything back together and put a washer before the nut and tightend it down. I test drove and no noise... Is this a common problem or was I dealt a bad heim?

Is it really that simple? I noticed some play in my track bar heim last weekend and was going to replace it. I was hesitant because the PO gave me the receipts that he had done and it lists a new trackbar so I just figured that they replaced the heim also. I'm gonna throw a washer on it first before I buy a new heim bearing.
Yeah, I've got a bad pop when turning too. So far I've replaced steering gear and spacer, wheel u-joints and sway bar bushings. It drives a hell of a lot better and it is quieter but still have that infernal popping.

I was getting the same noise. So i upgrades to the RE track-bar and that got rid of some of the popping, but its still there. If you have a stock mount it could also be that. I wating to put my new set up on. I took a stock bracket welded every crack I could find, then made it into a double shear mount, and am going to use a ballistic fab 2" joint with the RE track-bar. Ill let you know If that solves anything.
