My fathers front shaft is shot. He found a used one for $40 bucks but its a hour away and we need to know what years are interchangable to his 96 GC.

The cv was shot and broke apart and we dont have anyone that will rebiuld it for less than $300 bucks.

 

if they are the same length type 3 it should work..also a common upgrade is an xj u-joint shaft,that requires the yoke as well i believe

 

what year xj ? does it matter ? I assume the front axles have to be the same models correct ?
I would rather do that type of swap than repair or replace the cv type joint since ujoints are easier to repair.

 

all d30's,make sure it's the same length
