Default 96 GC Front Axle Whine

Hi.....vehicle is a 95 Grand Cherokee that runs flawlessly...except for a very annoying whining noise coming from the front end.

The noise goes up and down with vehicle speed starting at 5-10 mph and getting progressively louder with higher speed. The best way to equate the type of sound is that it reminds of serious knobby off road tires, but a bit higher frequency. It is definitely not from the engine.

It should be noted that the brakes are all new, and the tires and rims are factory stock.

Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I am a 1st time Jeep owner and don't know where to start.

ps: Did an internet search and came up with many possible causes. Hoping to narrow it down a bit with experienced owners. Thanks in advance!!!!!

Possibly a bearing going bad.
