oil pressure sending unit
Year 2000 grand cherokee with 85,000 miles, automatic transmission pulled by a six sylinder. Symptoms: Oil pressure pegged out at 80 a few days ago and stayed there for a couple days. Then started reading normal values again being in the 40 to 60 range but mostly at 60. I'm thinking its the sending unit going out. Engine temps, engine power, idle, and all other operation seems normal.
Advance auto wants $47 for this item. Where can I find it cheaper. Should I try a salvage yard.
Thanks

I think I would buy a new one. Napa has them for 34.50 http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPage...e+Gauge+Switch

a lot of people have issues with aftermarket sensors on GC for some reason. If you check out the heavily posted forums you will see many times they have to do it twice using an OEM one in the end.
