95 ZJ 4.0 low erratic idle

95 ZJ 4.0 low erratic idle
Help please - I have been chasing this problem with no resolve yet. 95 ZJ 4.0 w/ auto trans- low erratic idle, tries to stall. When cold (closed loop) stumbles from stop until warmed up. erratic idle feels like you are letting clutch out til almost stall, then quickly push in clutch. Never dies, but engine is pulled down. - New parts I have installed so far: : Idle Air control, MAP, O2 sensor, CPS, TPS, plugs, new distributor, coil.
Things I am wondering about that might cause this problem: auto trans trying to lock up TC at idle or issue with my trans,? timing chain really bad causing timing to fluctuate and ECU can't keep up.
also - tach seems to read low sometimes.... not always but sometimes
Engine has 270k mi, compression is 115 to 125, 17"vac at idle,.
I'm at a loss right now..... any ideas or anyone experience this????
