Default 93 GC engine trouble shooting

I have a 93 GC 4.0 4wd and recently started having engine problems. I pressure washed the engine (low pressure) and covered the air filter and was sure not to spray and gasket areas as i didnt want to blow water trough. It seems ever since i did this it does not run right! it starts fine but after around ten seconds or so the "check engine" light will come on and then the idle will drop one or two hundred RPM's and the throttle respons becomes very crappy! I drive it and it will sputter a bit and occasionally stall. I have checked everything that may have gotten wet and its all dry. I have had this problem now for around three days so if something was wet it would be dry by now. Any suggestions would help. Thanks!

I dont believe the problem has anything to do with pressure washing the motor now but the problem is progressively getting worse. Now it is having little trouble starting and staying running. Im pretty mechanically incline and i am completely lost here. Maybe the computer is going bad???

Start with the cheap fixes first. Grab a tube of dielectric grease, disconnect and blow out all electrical connections (this could be a TPS issue after getting wet.. they dont like water) and fill with grease and reconnect.

I'd also pull and dryout the dist cap. Check for a crack.

That's what i was thinking (TPS) but before i started buying things i wanted to get a few opinions first. The distributor is brand new so i know there are no cracks but i did take it off yesterday and sprayed brake cleaner in it to evaporate any water and wiped it down... problem remained. I think im gonna get a new TPS and see what happens.
