Default '89 XJ axle swap to '94 ZJ

I've got an '89 XJ LTD w/ a big brake kit on the front and I am considering swapping the whole front axle over to a '94 ZJ LTD.
Is it a direct swap? I know the bolt pattern is the same etc, but what about overall width, & anything else that might be a problem?
Also considering swapping my AX15 to the ZJ.
I know VERY few ZJs came manual, but did they run AX15s?
Thanks for you help,
Fred

The axle will be a bolt in, but did you lock out the disco on the XJ axle? The ZJ did use the AX15, you might have a problem finding a pedal assembly though because a ZJ with a manual is very rare, I've only seen one in my life.

Default XJ axle & trans to ZJ

Thanks for your reply.
I was thinking about using the clutch/ brake pedals out of the XJ for the ZJ.
Will this not work?

XJ pedals will need considerable modifications.

I just thought I'd throw another fly in the ointment. Are the electronics compatible? Does the 94 use the 42re/46re that need a TCM?

Dave, i dont remember if you HAVE TO aquire the manual ECU or not.. quick search at JF would answer this. Several successful swaps there.

On an OBDI the swap is easier for those who need to pass inspection as you'll be able to eliminate the CEL, no way to do so on an OBDII.
