Default 4.7L V8 to 4.7L V6 01 GC Conversion??

Is there anyone who can fix the computer in a 2001 Grand Cherokee, so I can swap from the V8 to a V6 stroker motor?
I would hope to do this without swapping the Drive train.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

What is the advantage? Is the V8 dead?

Do you mean an I-6 stroker ...aka 4.0 stroked to 4.7 ?...if so WHY the non H.O. v8 4.7 is SAE 235hp/295tq SAE NET numbers ...SAE NET is the hp/tq rating at the crank with all applicable accesory draw I do not beleive the numbers I see for 4.6/4.7 strokers are SAE which is easily 20-30hp/20-30tq difference ...You can pep up the 4.7 to about 260hp/325tq without breaking the bank a well built stroker that really puts up those numbers will cost 5k then you need to add suppoting mods for fuel delivery and well that stroker will cost you 7k to do what a basicly stock 4.7 powertech v8 does ...If you're going to put 7k into it go a few more dollars and do a 5.7 hemi you already have the right transmission in v8 WJ for it .

Blew up two V8's (and a tranny), worst motor I have ever owned, will not do another. This is what I'm looking at:
http://high-performance-engines.com/...duct_Code=HP24
But I believe since I have the 4.7 with the quadra drive, I'm stuck with V8 because of the computer??
Basically any motor besides the 4.7lt.
All I drive are American vehicles, Dodge cummins to be specific, thought I'd build a baby crawler with this Cherokee, but 2 motors and a tranny later, it's sitting in the yard.

The 4.7v8 /45rfe are bullet proof in a WJ sure sometimes defects occour ,but this combo is very long life in a WJ. My WJ has 165k on origional 4.7/45rfe and runs like new and this is after my brother stole it and ran it through some trees .I've ssen issues with poorly tweaked /poorly set up supercharged 4.7 falling apart and poorly maintained motor/trans going early the 45rfe is basicly same trans behind 6.1 srt8 ...You certainly will not find a better motor going from a 4.7 v8 to an ATK 4.7 I-6 .

As for dropping in the I-6 you could source out all parts from an I-6 from a WJ and swap them over ...WASTE OF TIME to down grade .

Thanks for the info and opinions, basically I'm looking for someone that can customize the computer. Anyone know of a forum for performance and computer tweaks/customizations?
I bought this rig because of the many jeep forums and all said it was bullet proof,
well $12,500 later, I don't want bullet proof, I just want something I can drive.........
Not here to insult or annoy anyone, if you believe this is a Great combo fine, my experience has not been that.
If my only option is to gut it and go with select drive, different tranny etc, I'll just give it to one of the local kids, or donate it to charity.
This is my first Jeep and hasn't been a pleasant experience. Just want to be able to drive it without spending another $4000 on a motor I despise.

How do you manage to grenade a pair of 4.7's? I bought an 01 Durango 4x4 4.7L with 50k on the clock. Sold it to my idiot son at 125k, he has abused that poor thing and not maintained it at all and it is still stumbling along at 225k.
