Default 2WD LIFT

Whats up guys,I posted in the lift section I saw here but didn't get much feed back. My dilemma is I'm looking for a kit or shop that puts on a 4in lift kit for the 2WD WJ laredo, I already have daystar 2in lift with bilstein 5100's that are literally 3 days old and now I have to sell because I bought 265/70/17 tires and wheels. Every shop I go to says 4WD only for the lift kits they provide, can anyone direct me to kits for the 2WD WJ, I am new to jeeps so I'm assuming they aren't a universal fit. Thanks

The 4wd kit will work for your 2wd. The suspension is the same between the two. The only difference is the lack of a transfercase and front differential.

Other than the front trackbar being a different shape in stock form, I can't imagine why a 4wd kit wouldn't work on 2wd. All the geometry should be similar and the parts even the same for ease of manufacture. I have zero experience lifting a 2wd but I'm 99% sure a 4wd lift would work. Do more research and maybe ask the technicians at the shops to look it over and explain the difference if they can.

I agree. The only downside i can think of, would be extra parts, i.e. extra money.
But i doubt it would be too hard to unload some brand new 4wd, lifted parts. Especially here.

As Paco said, some suspension/steering parts might be mis-shapen, but its only to clear the front diff, that you dont have. it may look weird, but should work fine.

Does anyone know if there are any parts of the lift kit that would bolt to the front axle, or Diff?

And if it's 2wd, does it use the same tie-rod ends,?

People have done 2wd to 4x4 swap and everything bolts in so it all should work.

The 2wd front suspension and steering is exactly the same as the 4wd suspension and steering. All of the brackets are the same. The ONLY thing different is the lack of a front differential, as stated before.
