2014 GC altitude
Hello all
I just got a 2014 grand Cherokee altitude and was wondering if any one has had an issue with the power steering. I was driving one day and the car went into neutral and the steering wheel tightened up on me as if I lost power steering I took it to the dealer got it fixed and less than a week later it happened again. this time the dash and radio screen flicker on and off.
any help with this would or experince is appreciated

Take it back to the dealer and explain exactly what is happening and when it happens. Information like if the engine is warm or cold, how long you've been driving before the problem appears, what speed you're going when it happens, are you accelerating or decelerating, does it only happen at night or during the day. The more info you can provide the better the chances are to have your vehicle repaired correctly. Service technicians do not have a lot of time to diagnose unusual problems because they get paid on flat rate, if they can not get the problem to happen on their ten minute test drive you will get the vehicle back and the work order will say" can not duplicate at this time". Good detailed info from the customer will help steer the technician to the area that is causing the issue.

I did and they found the problem right away as an internal fault in the power steering pump and it got fixed less than 200 miles of driving and it happened again so i'm back to square one figured if I got so one with the similar issue I can help the technician cut some time in going deeper into the problem my fear is that it will be the same code and go thru this again when its fixed.
thanks

They say they found the problem, but it looks like they just threw a new pump on in hopes that would solve the problem. Flat rate is the killer of good diagnostics. A technician usually only gets about 12 minutes to diagnose a warranty problem, good luck on properly diagnosing an unusual problem in that short span of time.
