Default 2011 JGC Complete power loss (jumped another car with cables on wrong)

Pretty simple. I helped someone jump their vehicle and they put the cables on wrong. When they started their vehicle, my horn beeped and the my Jeep shut down. Now it is completely dead. No power to anything. Almost like the battery itself is dead. I can't use my key fob, I can't do anything. I checked all the fuses and they seem good.

Have you tried unhooking your battery for a few minutes and reconnecting it? It might give it a chance to reset some stuff, just a thought.

Yes, I did that. It did absolutely nothing. I must have fried a fuse that I cannot locate or just blew the computer.

Check all your fuses and relays if its not that your ecu is toast.

If they were not connected correctly how did the other car start? Just asking so the polarity must have been correct did you follow directions for your GC as to jumping other cars, as I don't it?

The other vehicle started, after I reconnected it correctly, by just being hooked up to the jeep without it running. Like it was still able to pull power form the jeeps battery.

either a fusable link or you fried the computer.

i've seen both instances happen two different times.

Here is the culprit. Its a protector fuse that keeps the cars COU from a shock.

replaced it. $200 parts and labor

I was thinking fusible link, but I wasn't sure where it was.

200 bucks is cheaper then a new ecu by a long shot.

If you do that again you should be the one hooking up the cables

I've jumped friend's cars before, but I hooked them up without my engine running, and if it didn't start right away, quit trying so I didn't drain my battery. It's a nice gesture to help someone, but self preservation is more important.
