2011 Jeep GC V6 flex fuel question
My Jeep Grand Cherokee V6 says it will run on flex fuel with no issues. It has 32,000 miles on the odometer. I tried it a few days ago-no issues. Smells funny and its so darn cheap at $1.99/gallon compared to reg 87 at $2.42. The price never changes which is good (unless the price of corn sky rockets). Anyone had any issues using this fuel long term? My mechanic says its perfectly OK to use it.

It's cheaper but check your mpg. You probably won't get as far on one tank. That's the only negatives I've heard of but I'm not to informed on it.

Old fart with a wrench
Alcohol burns hot, but doesn't contain the latent heat that gasoline has, therefore you'll use more of it to produce the same power.
An interesting side of this is when they started making jet engines, gasoline makes more heat per gallon than kerosene, but per pound kerosene makes more. Weight is important in airplanes.
