So, Im trying to get the uconnect feature working in my 2008 grand. It was added "after the fact" so it does not have the microphone built into the rear view mirror. It took me a while to find the uconnect module but I finally did. I traced the mic wire and it goes about 2 feet from its plug and its cut. That explains why the nice little voice over the radio ignores my requests. LOL. Ive seen the stock stand alone mic for around $35 bucks online. Ive also heard of aftermarket mics made for the uconnect that work "better". but ive not been able to locate a source for this. Ive even thought of just getting some generic hands free mic and splicing it into the cut mic wire that Ive got. Any ideas on where to get such a mic for cheap?
