Default 2007 Grand Cherokee lowering options

Anyone lower a 07 Grand Cherokee? I wanna drop it 2-3”. I got the Jeep years ago cheap and fixed all its issues and gave it to my nephew as his first car. Today he gave it back although in a little rougher condition haha. I figure I’d fix whatever I need to and lower, paint, and slap a new exhaust on. I’m open to different options but it’s not gonna be a show piece so cheap is better. Thanks.

I'm not sure how many folks there is on here in the business of lowering jeeps. An '07 dropped may have a unique look...

If its coil springs all around, cheapest route is to chop a couple coils off. Your camber will be way off and tire wear will become a problem. I'm not sure how much adjustment they have in the control arms or if offset ball joints are available.. ?

When you drop it, you'll have to account for everything else being out of alignment. All suspension parameters and steering will be off. I'm sure its been done before.

Best route may be a ready made lowering kit with new springs, control arms, steering linkage, etc... that way it actually drives decent and with less compromise.
