2005 grand cherokee laredo 4.7l
I am replacing oil pan , mine rusted out. having trouble getting the pan off, all bolts are out, tried hitting sides w/ a dead blow hammer but not budging, tried to separate w/ screwdriver. do I need to remove bolts inside the pan that holds the tray? or should the pan separate from the tray. any help would greatly be appreciated. thx

My Haynes manual says to remove the oil pump pickup and windage tray as well, but it says the pan should come loose with a rubber hammer. There are 18 bolts and studs holding it. Also the starter and trans support bracket need to be removed first. My book only lists the 2004 as the latest.
