2005 Grand Cherokee Factory Hitch
Just a quick question...
My 2005 GC has a factory installed hitch. I recently bought a standard Reese 2x2" receiver and installed to tow a utility trailer. There is a tremendous amount of "play" in the receiver and sometimes it moves so much (especially when I have no load in the trailer) that it sounds like the rear end is being torn out of the jeep. Is the 2x2" receiver the proper one for the Jeep GC? Should I have purchased something different. Please advise. Thanks.

2x2 should be the right size...
This may help while you are hauling a load...

Do you mean the ball mount "rattles around" in the receiver when there's no load on it? My '04 with factory hitch has done this since new. Nature of the beast I was told.

Some do it more than others...
Mine rattles around a lot. On the other hand, the hitches on my parents tahoes do not... Just has to do with what size your receiver pin is...
