Default 2005 Gr Cherokee - Complete Power Loss

Hello, new and I am trying to help my brother long distance .. in the cold. 11 F

Vehicle was running fine then he shut it off while waiting at the VA in Ft Wayne. He went to start the vehicle and *nothing* ... no power whatsoever.

I had him put the vehicle in neutral and try to get power. Nothing. Had him leave the key in the ignition *ON* for a couple of minutes. Nothing.

While creating this account and searching for a like thread he called me back and said he heard a click under the hood and now the vehicle started and is running. <<< Clock is wrong and the outdoor temp reads 47 F >>>>

Ideas? I'm a GM guy so this is all unfamiliar to me, but I have this image of an old Ford type solenoid bolted to the inner fender that you could jump with a screwdriver. Always worked on my 66 Mustang anyway. Similar equipt?

Any help is appreciated.

Stay warm.

When you say, "no power whatsoever", do you mean to the starter? Has he got dash lights, turn signals, headlights?
