Hey guys. been having some starting troubles recently. I have a 2000 4.0 aw4. Recently the jeep has been turning over just fine but starting it sounds like i have a weak battery. battery is good and alternator is fine. New NSS and cps. it starts just fine but it sounds like it struggles with turning over. Well today i was out and about and when i got in the jeep it wouldnt start. The starter was making all kinds of noises like it was trying to turn the engine but it wouldnt. i cranked a couple more times and it finally got going. brought her home and tried to start again and same thing. some weird whiny sounds but eventually got it going. I let it cool off for a hour or so and it started up just fine. need some input on what could be happening here. thanks!

 

Check your starter

 

well i checked the starter and everything is fine. jeep starts up normal now. I think it was vapor locked because when i did the no start is was really hot like 220. now i got a whistling noise in the engine bay and cannot for the life of me figure it out
