Default 2004 Grand Cherokee Front Diff Full of Metal

I just bought this off my son got the thing home pulled the front diff plug and its a metal sludge. The rear diff oil seems normal.
In all my years, I have never seen this before. The oil is a silver sludge. The level is fine.
Has the full time 4 wheel drive as an option. This will be a farm truck fro me, but I need to tow my tractor, dual axle trailer, etc (about 5500 lbs. total)
Vehicle History-
1" lift put in below the coil springs - I will have this taken out.
New Shocks
Transmission rebuilt by a national franchise.
Front end tire wear scalloped on the inside of the tire. My son says it needs an alignment

It drives OK for the moment. I just brought it four and a half our drive towing my honda civic on a tow dolly.
I have not pulled the front diff cover yet.
What do I need to look for?

I appreciate any help in advance.

If it has Quadradrive, it has limited slip differentials in both front and rear that take special fluid. Since I have no experience with them, I'd say you should get some professional advice.

Thank you for supporting this great forum. You've come to the right place. I do know someone who has used a Quadradrive jeep to plow snow and maybe he has some advice. It's Doug at D&E in the Garage on Youtube. His e-mail is dandeoffroad@gmail.com.

i'm really afraid this is my problem. I have a popping noise coming from the front of the jeep. How much did it cost to fix?
