Default 2003 4.0 intake removal questions.

I am removing the manifold(s) from my 2003 Grand Cherokee w/4.0. I have all the top bolts out, and the one bottom one closest to the middle. Shouldn't I be able to lift off intake manifold now, or is there another bottom side bolt that holds on the intake also?

You're going to have to remove both manifolds to replace the gasket anyhow, so remove all the bolts except the last one in front and the last in the rear. Re-install a couple of top bolts first to hold the weight of the intake so you don't crack the mounting ears off it.

There's a total of 11 bolts holding both manifold on. I believe u need to remove 9 of them to take the intake off.

Remember he's got the split cast iron exhaust manifolds.

As I stated before, only #6 and #7 ONLY hold the exhaust on. They are studs as well.

Any tricks for lining up the collectors to the manifolds? Front on, rear not aligned properly.
