I need to head to the Junk yard to find a Transmission oil pan for a 2002 Grand Cherokee V8 engine. The yard has no 2002's in stock and I need to know what other years use the same transmission. It is for a friends jeep and he will send me a photo of the pan to match it up with. Is a 2WD trans the same as 4x4 and is I6 the same as V8?
Thanks,

The salvage yard should be able to cross it over, even a autoparts store could if you just asked them the application for the pan gasket.
I think all V8's in those years used the 45RFE/545RFE even the 68RFE used the same pan/gasket. Those trans can be found in the Ram 1500's and durangos too.

Yea I guess they are kind of different. A handy pic of the pan on your phone should be enough because the other transmissions will have totally different looking pans. You are at least looking for a Jeep/Chrysler product with more than likely a 3.7, 4.7, 5.7
You might look a little harder because there are deep pans out there too if you were interested.
