2002 Jeep GC power window/door issues
Hey Ya'll,
I have a 2002 jeep that is having some issues. The one I think I can fix myself is none of the windows no longer roll down. When I try there isno noise as if the moater is trying to do anything. I also can use the lock button on my key because it locks and unlocks all the doors but the front driver door. I have done a little exploring and I believe that the window moaters are good, but some how the electrical wires are no longer connected. I was told if I had this fixed at a shop it would run me btween 250-400 dollars so I was hoping I could knock this out myself.
My questions are as follow. 1. Does this sound like a simple wire problem, or is it in fact a moater I need replaced? 2. What would the steps be to fix this issue myself(steps, tools needed, products i need to purchase)? This could simply be a link to a page that talkes this problem and gives a great step by step how to. 3. Would I be better off having a shop take care of this for me? I feel like this should be something I can do myself.
Thanks for reading and I hope someone can help me out.

It sounds like you have an issue with you switch block on your driver front door. All windows are routed to that switch. But not all locks, which is why all others work except the drivers. I would first check any fuses. Also the relay for the windows. Most likely you arent hearing it click so you will have to jump it to see if its switching and if it is, is the to much resistance to let enough power through. I think this should help. Also check for power at where the relay plugs in as well as the connectors at the switch and at the door jamb and so forth. You can find relay testors and test lights at any autozone, advanced auto etc... Good luck

I had a problem like that with 02 JGC, in mine it was a broken ground wire going into the drivers door. i had to pull back the rubber boot to see the broken wire, patched it up and all my problems went away. hope this helps.

Check yours relays and power to the motors from the relay. It could also be a bad motor

Great thank you, this was my second option after checking all the fuses. (Of course after I did this now my seat belt light and air bag light are on.) Can I make a fix by taking of the door panel? If not, where is the rubber boot located? Also I have looked up good ways to patch up wires, but any tips you could give me would be fantastic. Thank you.

I just fixed the wife's WJ, the black ground wire was broken.
You do not need to remove the door panel, just unplug the wiring harness at door. Then remove the kickpanel in Jeep, fish the harness into the kickpanel area to give you some room to work. Pull the boot up and inspect/repair wiring. Think it took me an hour with a beer break.

"between the jamb and the door" looks like a flex hose.
I removed the door panel and the kick panel.
