Hi all! We (my hubby & I) are new to this forum as of today but, we have been Jeep owners for 13 yrs

We are looking to buy a 2nd Jeep and looked at a 2002 Grand cherokee Laredo with 104,000 mi on it. It is really clean on the inside but.....the shocks for the hood are shot, and either the valve cover gasket or head gasket is leaking. Which we could have our mechanic fix BUT what concerned us when we drove it was that it had a very low light whine/whistle probably coming from the rear end and it seemed that when we were deaccelerating it happend. It was intermittent as we were driving it. I have googled as well as searched the forum to no avail.....can anyone tell me what this could be? We are still on the fence about buying it. BTW it is a 6cyl. Thanks and look forward to all replies!
