Default 2001 WJ 4.7 Misfire?

I was looking at a 2001 WJ 4.7L that has about 125k on it. The owner wants to get rid of it cheap due to it misfiring and throwing codes, which are P0201, P0351, P0353, P0356, P0358. The owner said he thinks its missing in Cylinders 6 and 8 but the codes show 1, 3, 6, 8. He said he put new plugs in it with no help, then swaps some of the coils with no help, and bought 2 new for cylinders 6 and 8 with no help. Then "he said" he bought a new computer from the dealership programmed to the VIN, which also didn't help at all..

Now I can get it for about $1200, its 4wd pretty low miles for the year, tow package, leather pwr heated seats sunroof etc, so its pretty loaded and clean, and I would like it if I can get an idea of what could be wrong with it..

Any ideas?? There has not been a compression or leakdown test done yet, but if I do look at it I would test each cylinder, and only be interested in they all read well.

Thanks!

Don't waste your time or money on it. The 99-2002 4.7 engines have problems, don't buy somebody else's headache.

The P0351-P0358 series codes are not really misfire codes, they are more specific to the coil circuits, meaning the wiring or electronic side of the coils. I have seen a few coil connectors/pins becoming loose and causing these codes, I have never seen this many in one vehicle though. Since he already tried coils and a PCM I would have to say the problem lies in the wiring and its probably a connector or pin issue.

Thanks for the heads up, I think I am going to pass on this one, I don't want to start to trace down a electrical issue that someone has already been playing with..
