2001 Jeep Grand Clearing trouble codes?
Hello, I am new to jeep forum. Cool place to read and learn. I have a jeep grand cherokee 2001. Had engine light on so I checked codes with key and there were 2 codes. AC Clutch and EVap. Repaired both and engine light went off. But why are the codes still showing in dash when I check with key. Is there a way to clear or is there still a problem? I want to smog this jeep?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to CF!
An OBDII scan tool will clear the codes. Find someone who will do this or rent a tool. Most mechanics or Auto Zone will read the codes, but are not allowed to clear the codes without having done the work. I bought one myself for about $87. Mine is an Actron CP9575 and was on sale at Advance Auto. I figure owning a Jeep, I'm going to need one anyway.
I have a recurring P0740 code which is Torque Converter Solenoid and comes up about once a month. I'm not about to tear into the transmission just to fix this yet, so I just clear the code when I need to. I'm only loosing a little fuel mileage on high speed trips which I don't do much of anyway.
