Last week my drivers door would pop like it was binding when opening and closing, then the other day it stopped doing it BUT now it doesn't keep the door half open like it used to and now just swings shut with no resistance or stopping halfway..............What could it be? How can it be fixed?

Well, first you had a sticking door check mechanism. Now it seems that went ahead and broke, so there is no longer a door check and it swings free.

Is it the arm that goes into the door? If so, the passenger side one is tight and the drivers side is sloppy/loose. How can it be fixed? Do I have to remove the panel and go in through the door itself?

Riz. you actually made me go outside in the cold and look! Yeah, it looks like you'll have to remove the door panel to get it out.

Sorry for making you go out in the cold. LOL! It was -8° here this morning too.
I can hear a bolt or screw or nut rolling around inside the bottom of the door. I'll try and pop the door panel off and see what I can find. Hopefully I can fix it.

Be careful with opening the door without the restraint. You can screw up the sheet metal by letting it go too far!
